Caribbean Poker (by Betsoft) is the exemplar of a “player vs dealer” video poker game in which a player is required to place an ante first (it can be anywhere between $1 and $100, in bitcoin or other monetary units). The player then has to decide whether to challenge dealer’s hand (the decision is grounded on one open card of the dealer) or click Fold and thus surrender.
Not every hand (even the one that is considered strong in other poker games) wins in Caribbean Poker. This is because the dealer’s hand is required to qualify, that is it must contain a king and ace (or higher). If the dealer fails to qualify, the player receives the ante doubled but the main bet is returned without any winning however strong the player’s hand is. In case dealer’s cards qualify to play in the current round, the paytable applies. The max payout of 200:1 is reserved for royal flush, while the lowest real money win is for one pair (1:1). There are a few auxiliary play options that streamline online casino experience, e.g. game speed, sound mute and Rules button.
