Double Joker Poker Strategy
Double Joker Poker is yet another video poker variation that can be found at many online casinos. This game differs from the classical variant in the presence of Jokers. In Double Joker 54-card deck is used: 52 standard cards plus two Jokers. By the way, the latter provide players with more advantage if compared to the Joker Poker or classic video poker variants.
Both Jokers can substitute any other cards in the deck to form a winning combination, but the so called “Joker combinations” are paid less than their non-Joker counterparts. Confer the payouts:
- Royal Flush without Joker – 10-J-Q-K-A suited – 300:1
- Royal Flush with Joker – 10-J-Q-K-Joker suited – 100:1
As soon as the payout table changes the strategy for Double Joker Poker is also slightly different from other game types.
Playing Double Joker Poker you can keep even the low cards in case you have no chances to improve a hand. E.g., you get 7♠-2♥-K♠-3♥-Q♦. It is worth keeping 2♥ and 3♥. Why? Because K and Q unsuited can form two pairs, three of a kind, straight, full house, or four of a kind, while 2 and 3 suited can potentially improve to two pairs, three of a kind, straight, full house, four of a kind, as well as flush and straight flush. Thus low cards have more possibilities to form a winning hand compared to K and Q unsuited.
Now let’s set to review the Double Joker video poker strategy itself. As in any other strategies for other game types here, you are recommended to hold all the cards if dealt royal flush, five of a kind, four of a kind, straight flush, full house, flush, or straight. No matter whether these combinations are formed with Joker(s) or without. In other cases try to make the most of the following combinations:
Playing Double Joker Poker you are required to always keep Jokers and never discard them.
