Labouchere roulette strategy
Labouchere strategy is widely used in gambling. It can be successfully applied in roulette and many roulette fans use the strategy. This system is popular because of its simple algorithm. Basically even newcomer can effectively use it in casino. The strategy has got numerous names. For example, some gamblers call it “Cross out” and “Split Martingale”. But let’s talk about the strategy and its mechanism. The idea of Labouchere strategy is simple. It helps to increase odds of a gambler.
If you wish to try this strategy first of all we advice you to get ready. You need to take pen/pencil and paper sheet. Let’s start gambling and don’t forget to write down everything what is going on. We begin with taking several figures, for example just four. Ok, let’s assume that we took 4, 1, 2 and 3. Now it is time to place your bet. According to Labouchere strategy your first bet should be the sum of first and last figure. In our case it will be 4+3=7. Then we place our first bet which will be 7 coins. Playing with Labouchere strategy you should prefer even money bets (with ~50% chances). Such bets are red/black, odds/even and others. Ok, if we have won we should cross our figures we used (4 and 3). Now we have two last figures on our paper (1 and 2). This means that our next bet will be the sum of the figure 1+2=3. Thus we place 3 coins even money bet. If we were lucky again and won we should cross out two figures. Now our sheet is empty and we can create new list of figures for future bets.
But let’s have a look what would happen if we had suffered a defeat. Alright, let’s assume that our first bet of 7 coins were unsuccessful. This means that we lost 7 coins. Ok, now we should write down this figure. We can write 7 in the beginning or in the end of our figures list, it doesn’t really matter. Let’s say we have added 7 to the beginning of our list and we have got on our paper sheet: 7, 4, 1, 2, 3. If we do it vice-versa putting 7 in the end we will have the following: 4, 1, 2, 3, 7. No problems, let’s proceed to the next bet. If 7 is the first figure our new bet should be 10 (7+3=10). If 7 was in the end of the list our bet would be 11 (4+7=11). Anyway if we win now we should cross out the two figures. If we lost our bet we add 10 or 11 to our sequence. It is simple, isn’t it?
Therefore Labouchere strategy is based on simple principle of inclusion and exclusion of figures. Surely Labouchere strategy has got pros and cons. The main disadvantage is high risk. Let’s assume that you have lost several times in a row. It means that your bets will be bigger and bigger! Therefore there is a risk of losing big money in no time. There is a good solution of this problem. When you feel that bets become too expensive for your bankroll it might be a good idea to split the amount of bet. Let’s say, your previous bet was 20 coins and you lost. Instead of putting 20 in the beginning or in the end of sequence put 10 and 10. For example, you put first 10 in the beginning and second 10 somewhere in the middle. Your sequence will look like: 10, 16, 8, 2, 10, 4…
Labouchere strategy is very simple. You can see that the algorithm of the system is quite effective. You don’t need to have special knowledge or math skills to use the Labouchere strategy. Anyway it is crucial to assess your bankroll. You need to create proper betting structure which suits your bankroll. Start betting with small limits. It will protect you from painful loses.
