How to play online craps

At the beginning of a craps session, a new player should look at the table to understand what's displayed on it. Every software provider has a unique table design but all of them show the bet names on which a player may place a chip. A player makes a bet by picking one or more chips from the selection and clicking the designated area on the table. This approach is implemented perfectly in mobile casino craps versions as well.

Initially, a player is allowed to wager only on Pass or Don't Pass. By the way, these have the most beneficial odds for the player (1.41% and 1.36% accordingly). The player then clicks a button to get two dice thrown onto the table. If the dice land with 7 or 11, the Pass bet wins and Don't Pass loses. If the dice show 2, 3 or 12, Pass loses and Don't Pass is winner, and the round ends.

If the first dice roll, also known as come-out roll, results in any other outcome (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), that number becomes a so called "point" and the player is then allowed to place other online craps bets in addition to the original bet referred to above. After the second roll takes place, the Pass bet wins if the point number appears before 7 and on the contrary, Don't Pass bet brings you a win if 7 occurs first.

Before the second roll in the round, a CA player may wager on Come or Don't Come that act identically to Pass/Don't Pass. The only exception is that a player establishes an individual point number by wagering on either outcome. Pass and Don't Pass have the same odds as above and are a good choice of every player.

Good and bad bets in casino craps

There are many bet types that a player may select to place after the come-out roll. Some of them have decent player odds while others should be avoided because of a low player advantage. In fact, most bets on the table are bad, meaning they are designed with a considerable house edge. Professionals claim the best betting patterns are as follows:

  • Pass/ Don't Pass, Come/Don't Come
  • Place 6, 8 (both have a house advantage of 1.52%). Either bet wins if the particular number occurs before 7. They should not be mixed with Big 6/Big 8 which have an inappropriately high edge of 9.09%
  • Hard Way bets. There is a dedicated field on the table devoted to pair numbers (1-1, 2-2, etc.). Craps payouts for hard ways range between 4:1 to 30:1 but they should be avoided because of a discouraging edge of around 9% to 11%
  • Field bets. These are one-time (single-roll) bets in craps game and the player will either win or lose it in the next roll. Winning numbers are 2 through 4, 9 through 12. The craps odds are 5:4 and the edge is around 5.56%. Though field betting is not as profitable as pass/line patterns, some players like it, especially if the specific casino craps offers triple payouts on 12.

Online craps strategy and casino bonuses for players from Canada

Craps online is a game of chance so there is no way to affect the outcome in favor of the player or eliminate the house edge altogether. However, a player may stick to the best bets in order to maximize the winning chances, and at the same time steer away from betting on the worst bets. Players are advised to look at the paytable of a craps game and check for probabilities.

Some online casinos offer craps bonuses on a regular basis. Just ensure you revisit the bonus page of your selected online casino for new offers - these are normally match bonuses with real money wagering on craps games.
